HUMAN GENETIC IDENTIFICATION AND THE ESTABLISHMENT OF BIOLOGICAL RELATIONSHIPS
The study is conducted to resolve controversial cases of the biological origin of children and to clarify family ties. The human genome contains a large number of polymorphic loci, a significant part of which are represented by tandem repeats with varying copy numbers. Due to the high level of polymorphism, loci of this type have found wide application as genetic markers in the study of the human genome, namely, in solving problems related to personal identification and establishing family ties. (Applied Biosystems). The allelic polymorphism of these loci is primarily based on differences in the number of tandem repeats contained in different alleles. The number of tandem repeats in a particular allele may vary from one to several dozen.
Usually, a certain range of alleles is found in a population that differ from each other in the number of repeating units, and each person has strictly two (paternal and maternal) alleles of each polymorphic locus of equal (homozygous genotype) or different (heterozygous genotype) length. Up to 22 autosomal DNA loci are examined. In standard cases, the value of the paternity (maternity) index is >10,000, which corresponds to the probability of paternity (maternity) >99.99%. Whole blood or samples of buccal epithelium are used as a biomaterial for this study. The study is carried out on a genetic analyzer 3500
The duration of the research is 10 working days
